Red and Turquoise Teardrop Pattern

I saw these red, white, turquoise and black teardrop shapes in a dream, so I thought I could use them for my first pattern. Once I painted them, I thought they looked kind of primitive. I envision some of them being different sizes, and I painted some solid colored ones that I imagine being very small in the pattern.

I am brand  new to Photoshop and Illustrator, so it's going to take me a lot of time over the weekend to figure out the next steps!

I spent nearly all day today trying to get my shapes in order and vectorized. Illustrator crashed for the second time today just as I was ready to export my artboard and I lost all the work. I am giving up for today because 5 hours on this is long enough. Apparently I don't enough CPU memory on my computer, so I need to spend some time researching how to clear up memory now.

Here's what it looks like when your computer decides it can't handle the memory needed. At least you can see my objects are vectorized and rearranged.

Here are a couple patterns I made from a photo on my iPhone using the layout app- you can't rearrange or resize the objects- if any of you do abstract drawings, I highly recommend Layout for fun!
