We value boldness, creativity and a united community.
After speaking at a conference for work-bound high school students (ie. Students not going to university or college) a student named Michael approached me to thank me for being there. He told me that his friends or family didn't know he was at the conference. When I asked him why, he replied, “do you know how embarrassing it is when all of your friends are opening their university acceptance letters and you’re sitting there in the corner like an absolute loser, not knowing what to do after high school?”
Raise Your Flag exists to give Michael, and the rest of the students like him, hope for their post-secondary lives. We believe that a student who decides to go to work after finishing high school deserves to be just as excited as the student opening their first university acceptance letter.
