So I did a little bit of research before I got started, I found it mostly from Digg. I found what people are wanting in a RSS feed so I tried to find a happy middle point from what I found. I decided to start with mobile then I will work my way up to larger screens.
Here is just a list of what I have found. (Yes, some of it will contradict.)
-No magazine style - SIMPLE
-Sharing without it being a social network.
-Offline use with Firefox and Chrome extension.
-integrate with pocket, readability, and instapaper.
-Trends and stats wanted.
-Comments from within only
-Folders with easy to add subfolders.
-Tool to help filter the content
-Search tool for old content
-Search tool for within the article, not just the title
-Ability to separate recommendations from my feed.
-Allow customization- Magazine base vs. Newspaper base
I tried to keep these in mind while concepting, but I'm not exactly a pro of any sort at this thing.
Ok I tried to go with some of the feedback and scratch the project up above in a way.
I also wanted to restart with a computer size screen instead of a phone and see where it takes me.
I wanted go with an image driven feel because I personally like the way it looks and feels better.
There is a mouse over effect that allows the user to see the complete image but when moused over it lets the user read the first few lines of the story.
Finally what it would look like once the reader clicks on a story. From here they would be able to bookmark, share, and search within the story as needed.
