Quitting makes me better

"Defeat doesn't finish a man, quit does. A man is not finished when he's defeated. He's finished when he quits." - Richard Nixon

"Winners never quit and quitters never win." - Vince Lombardi

Quitting makes me better.

I quit things all the time. I get this feeling that I can't get rid of, and when I can identify what's causing it - I quit.

I quit coffee for awhile because I was tired of being so dependent on caffeine.

I quit Facebook for a few years because I was tired of spending my time refreshing for new updates.

I've quit a lot of jobs and recently quit working at any office altogether because I wanted to spend more time around my family. (Now I work remotely from home.)

In my life, quitting has always worked out for the better (whether immediately apparent or in hindsight), I've gained perspective and scaled back unwanted habits. I've found new opportunities for growth and new areas of interest.

This habit I've created in my life (and work) isn't used carelessly, but it has given me more confidence to simplify, to let go, and to explore.
