Quimera Designs

I am constantly doing personal projects, some alone, some collabs with friends. More often then not, people ask me "oh can I have one" or "make one for me," or "that would be the perfect gift for..."  and in light of that I want to create a brand, thats not just my personal branding, that will represent all these side/ one of a kind/ hand done projects. (Some of the projects I've done are pictured below)

My own personal brand is pretty geometric and clean because lets face it, employers get scared off pretty easy...(personal letterhead pictured below)

So as you can see it doesn match the vibe of my personal work, and since Im not always the only one working on these, I'd like to have a brand that's not just my name.

A couple years ago I stumbled across a word that was like love at first....meaning? I instantly knew I would use that for my brand whenever I had one.

Chimera: (/kɨˈmɪərə/ or /kˈmɪərə/, also ChimaeraChimæraGreek: Χίμαιρα Chímaira) was, according to Greek mythology, a monstrous fire-breathing female creature of Lycia in Asia Minor, composed of the parts of three animals — a lion, a snake and a goat. Usually depicted as a lion, with the head of a goat arising from its back. The term chimera has come to describe any mythical or fictional animal with parts taken from various animals, or to describe concepts perceived as wildly imaginative or implausible.

I'm bilingual, so I've gone back and forth deciding whether I'd will use the spanish spelling "Quimera" or the english one. I think proabably the spanish one because the pronunciation is still readable in english, while vice versa it doesnt really work.

Anyways, I fell in love with the idea of type and image melding together since it is such a visual word. And I really wanted to bring that mythology/classic vibe to it. So thats what my moodboard is all about.

First round of sketching ended up straying a bit from the text in the image thing, but i havent discarded the idea...

Numbers are there for reference purposes, (i.e. I like whas going on in sketch 1 but with sketch 3's treatment) Im a critique junkie so go ahead and lay it on me. Ill be posting a round two end of next week hopefully.

I started on this one at work. Took a quick shot of it with my phone. was inspired by this image I found online. I liked the shape of the rib cage area.

This was my quick sketch but Im debating the type style still. i think I want to exagerate the type more, have it really fill the space...or maybe try a serif...
