I would like to use this class as an opportunity to gain valuable feedback as I create a personal monogram for myself and a logo for my website purplehillsstudio.com. I have a few sketch ideas for my website and Id also like to make my personal monogram unique.
My website, Purple Hills Studio is my portfolio website and it also features a blog where I follow other artists' work.
Here are my initial sketches for my website logo
Here are some digitized website logo options
I made 3 logo ideas that I am playing around with. I am leaning more towards 1-2, 2-1, and 3-1. I am having a hard time trying to decide which one I would rather go with. I like 1-2 for its simplicity, 2-1 for its balanced layout, and 3-1 as a composite image with a clean, simple, and unique typography treatment.
For my monograms, I am trying to create something simple, timeless, and iconic that would possibly look good as an oldschool wax seal. Again, here are my sketches
Monogram 1 – It reads as a flat “A” and an “H” in perspective. Which one works better?
After playing around with this idea with actual typefaces, I feel that the resulting image isnt distinctive or cohesive enough for my tastes.
Monogram 2 – I was thinking about combining the crossbars. I decided to play up this concept.
Here are my digitized monograms:
I am leaning more towards monogram 2 or 3. I like the texture more in the 3rd variations of those monograms.
