Since about May I have been taking advantage of the loop in Prospect Park in Brooklyn. I am so grateful for a place with masked walking, running, biking nature, and space! I typically go with my friend Jennifer and we talk about all the things! I value this time, I see nature, and for some reason it centers me a bit. Plus how much time can I spend looking at the walls of my apartment with my husband and 6 year old daughter. I often take pictures while walking because I am amazed there is a place this natural in Brooklyn. I grew up in south Jersey and the only places, as a kid, I saw in NYC were the tourist attractions. I took this class because I need to get pencil to paper now, for my soul.

This picture is from the beginning of November 2020 and I took it to show my Dad how late in the season the trees were changing colors, it was 72 degrees and an excellent day!

Sketch round I misinterpreted a lot of what was right in front of my face (the photo). My phone kept going to sleep while looking that I tried to fake it sometimes; which made the perspective off kilter and trees out of place.

First sketch:

This side by side comparison, a lot needed to change.

Used the base of my first sketch and took my time looking at the photo more.

This side by side shows a much better spacial direction.
