This is the first time I've done any sort of digital art (or any real serious attempt at art since my school days really). Acquired a basic drawing tablet and PS because I wanted to give it a go. I really enjoyed doing this course, and I'm happy with how these projects turned out. Considering this is my first attempt I think the results are a real testament to your clear and concise instructions Soibhan. Do let me know how I might continue to improve. Thanks!
Never thought I could capture the shape of a complex picture in simple lines but here we are. The building up and refining techniques worked really well, although some of the proportions still seem a little off and I was unsure which parts of the fur shading I should attempt to capture. Still, its recognisably a lioness so no complaints.
I had a lot of fun building up the colours in this and then blending them together. I probably spent too long trying to make to look as smooth as possible but I suppose that's all part of the learning process. Wasn't quite sure what to do with the tail where it cut off in the photo so I just left it as is.
Followed along with the landscape tutorial as best I could, though mine doesnt seem to quite have the same charm as the original. A hefty coating of mist layers masks a lot of the issues but it was fun to play with the textures and shading we learned in earlier lessons.
