Project - Stages 1-6

Project - Stages 1-6 - student project

For the warmup exercise I sketched Ryder from Paw Patrol. Using the shapes of square and rectangles, helped me to 'try' to keep the body more 'toddler' proportioned. On the second sketch, I neglected to use the shapes as a guide, and recognized that it caused me to have more trouble keeping the proportions correct, and elongate the body.  I love the toddler sized body, toddler shoes, and the man-sized attitude of this character!  Painted with watercolour pencils. Project - Stages 1-6 - image 1 - student project

Final sketches, are pretty well unrecognizable to me! Top one looks a bit older than me, lips sort of pulled to one side and large, bottom one too young! Haha. Eyes are too large in both pictures and nose, too thin. May have another go at it.
