Hi Melanie,

I've been a painter for around 30 years but I have only really sold professionally for 12. Pricing was that monster in the closet for me. I have pushed it on my family most of the time but with this worksheet and with looking in on my peers I'm feeling better prepared.

I was really happy even if it took me some time to say it I produce the same quality work as my peers. The big difference for me was pricing because they print at home and I use a service. My prices are a few dollars more but my paper is better. It feels even.

I guess I really need to work on my confidence in pricing and not undercharging people when my original price is too high for them. I have to value my work better and my peers. We work really hard.

I'm still working on my invoice. Do you make yours in PayPal? 


I made the mistake of undercharging this customer by $250 dollars a year ago and it has haunted me a little. But, now I feel better prepared to handle my customers.

I don't often do commissions but I get asked a lot. I hate some of the crazy requests but with the 50% down for a deposit and the 3 changes max. I feel ready.
