All right, I'm working on a backstory-illustration that ties back to my larger project, an ongoing webcomic called "The Jupiter Palladium." This is one of the characters from when she was in high school, attempting to fit into the "preppy" crowd.

The idea is to make her look uncomfortuble and unsure, so I've centered her in the picture frame and made her appear small, as well as using yellow and orange to accentuate that kind of emotion while wrapped around darker, cooler shades that are foreign to her. I also made sure to contrast her body language to the guys, making him proud and confident behind her, who is hunched over and awkward.
