Practice Makes Perfect

Practice Makes Perfect - student project

Thanks for a great class Natalie, I really enjoyed it! I have gone over a few of the practice sheets a few times in short spurts in quiet moments between caring for my little kids! That's what I am loving about watercolour; I can do 5 minutes here and there and get something pretty in that short time and still feel like I'm being creative! Loved the activities and the in depth instruction on materials and techniques. A good chance to use up the cheap 8 colour palette I am starting with and get some better paints and paper. I was able to start to see the chalkiness of some of the colours and use up some of the yukky colours on practice strokes. The specimen I had was just a gum branch, and I found the faster I worked the worse it looked. Definitely need to keep my arm steady and go slow. But had lots of fun. Even with my limited colours. They don't mix well and end up grey and gross. So now off to get a new palette and do the colour mixing class.
