Portraits and Tigers

First of all, I just want to say thank you to Yuko Shimizu for this brilliant class. It's my favourite on Skillshare and probably one of the courses I've learned the most from and enjoyed the most of any class I've taken. And I think all the projects people are posting are amazing and inspiring.

I started off doing a couple of portraits, with texture in mind, using Daler Rowney black ink and water colour brushes, as well as fine grain heavy weight paper.

As you can see, some things worked out and some things didn't, but I really loved it and went on to doing a couple of tigers. This time all with one brush, the one I felt handled best, so that I could keep the flow.

I think the tails worked out best :D

Then I got hold of a Winsor and Newton colour ink set, some nibs, and an Asian brush and did a couple of colour fairly comic style portraits.

There's a fair bit of texture in the trousers that hasn't come out in the picture actually.

I will definitively be investing in some Dr. P.H.Martins ink, as working in ink is just brilliant.
