I definitely enjoyed it very much :).
I found that the principles taught in this class were applicable when doing a portrait of my budgie as well ;).
The original photo that I used as reference is included, as well as some pictures of my process. I opted to use a grid as a guide for drawing in order to depict a more accurate portrait.
I am quite proud of the result :).

I started by using a grid to draw the outlines of the budgie. At first, I did it very roughly, below is a more refined sketch:
The grid was done on a separate layer, so here is the basic sketch without the grid:
When the paint was all laid in, this is what it looked like:
After I was satisfied with the way the budgie looked, I added the extra details and effects.
The final illustration:
