I selected the poem Edmund Pollard from Spoon River Anthology. I was struck by the depth of regret in this piece and wanted to focus on a very old Edmund. Why did he hold back from sensual pleasures? What was he afraid of? What happens when he realizes it's too late?

Logline

As the townspeople prepare to celebrate Edmund's 90th birthday, a mysterious guest arrives and he is confronted with the life he was afraid to live.
