Plein Air Watercolor

Plein Air Watercolor - student project

I enjoyed using my Pochade for a Plein Air Watercolor Setup and enjoyed the challenge, but I admit I felt a bit confused and tended to treat the Watercolor as if I was working in Oils. I have more experience with oils and am not used to watercolor techniques in quite the same way but enjoyed the challenge. (The blue spots in the foreground are masking fluid I applied too thinly and couldn't effectively remove.) I'll watch demos a few more times for problem solving tips. My landscape felt a bit full of too much information and overworked, so afterward I slowed down a bit and focused on a bloom which looked more interesting to me.

It's been raining where I live for months so am taking advantage of my porch and Japanese Magnolia in the front yard for Plein Air sessions.

I enjoyed the class and challenge and would love feedback on improving my Plein Air Watercolors! Thanks for a great class Rachael!
