# Playlists - Parent recommended

Problem Hypothesis:

Kids watch videos on ipad and some of the recommendations they receive in youtube are not relevant or age-appopriate.  So parents with young kids / toddlers have to constantly monitor what kids watch.  Because most of the vidoes are only 10-12 minutes long, and it doesn't help the parents who want to do something else while kids enjoy their favorite show or cartoon on a ipad.

Wouldn't it be nice if parents can create / share playlists of kids favorite shows and make the available for their kids to enjoy.  Kids enjoy their favorite shows and parent doesn't have to worry about the content shown.

Assumptions:

1. Parents with young kids / toddlers allow them to watch youtube on ipad.

2. Parents are not able to monitor what their kids watch online.  But are compelled to provide them these gadgets so that the parent gets some free time.  They would like to monitor what the kids watch.

3. Parents would take time to create the playlists for their kids that's entertaining and fun for kids.

4. Parents would be willing to pay a fee for a service that  helps them monitor their kids video content.

Solution Hypothesis:

Create an app that will help parents create / share playlists for their kids to watch and enjoy.  Parents would be able to put youtube links and also some educational links in the playlists so that kids enjoy and learn.  Initially the app will be restricted to youtube videos, but it can include reading material / working on simple math problems to unlock a video time of their favorite shows.  Kids can earn badges that they can redeem for video content.

Riskiest assumption:

Parents are not able to monitor what their kids watch online.  But are compelled to provide them these gadgets so that the parent gets some free time.  They would like to monitor what the kids watch.

MVP:

Ask parents how much time kids spend on watching youtube online and how much of it is kids explroing along vs. parent curated.

Data to collect:

Number of parents that have kids that explore videos on their own.

Success Criteria:

20% of the Kids / toddlers watching videos online daily and 10% of the kids exploring videos on thier own.
