Pickled Green Beans as a first project

So, the only way I love green beans is if they are pickled.  And they are plentiful in the market right now so I thought i would get started.  I decided to do two jars and do them a bit different and see which one i liked better.

First jar: Green beans, 2 full garlic cloves, 1tsp of mustard seeds, 2tsp French gray salt

Second jar: Green beans, 2 chopped garlic cloves, 1 tsp lemon juice, lemon zest, rosemary, 2 tsp French gray salt

After a couple of days, I tried them both and thought they both needed more salt and vinegar.  So I liberally added more and put them back in the fridge.  8 days later, they are both pretty good though I prefer the second jar more.

The next jars, I will add even more vinegar and salt from the beginning.  I will fill the jars 3/4 with water and 1/3 vinegar.  The salt needs to be kicked up to a tablespoon and I want more spice. So red chili pepper flakes will be a must.
