Philly Alive

So with this past "brutal" winter, I haven't had much opportunity to go out and take photos. This is slow going, but with spring here (sort of) I went on a brief walk and captured the old, gritty Philadelphia with the fast paced movement of I-676. 


To the left is the brand new Schuykill River Boardwalk against a backdrop of factories. On the right is I-676, connecting I-95, I-76 and downtown Philadelphia (Center City). 

The other day I wanted to capture a different kind of motion. While the lights from cars are spectacular, here's a photo of the Logan Square Fountain.


This photo is unedited. I just though of continuing the theme. I was intrigued by the juxtaposition of an old church, a brand new apartment building, and nature. It would've probably looked better if I hadn't taken so long to walk. As you can see night time was falling.

And now the candid shots. I actually went ahead and rented a telefoto lens from Lumoid. I fell in love with it when I spent about 2 hours just sitting at Logan Square Park in Philadelphia. There's a great fountain which tends to have people of all walks of life congregating to get some relief from the heat.
