The logo I am working on will be used on my blog and online portfolio. I am currently studying graphic design, but I also work in traditional media. I want to showcase both sides of that. Here is what I want my logo to achieve:
Easy to read
Timeless/classic with a bit of a modern twist
Describes who I am and what I do
Combination of traditional and digital media
Versatile -text and elements in the logo can be transformed into different shapes and layouts, but will still recognizable as a whole
Here is what my old logo looks like. I don't hate it, but I think it's a bit too simple. Right now, it's just an orange circle with my initials on it. I want to push myself to design something that will make my "brand" more distinguishable.
I chose to make the pencil into an icon that I can place with the text. I think it represents both sides well (art & design). I use pencils to sketch out ideas and make first drafts, so I think it's quite appropriate. I think it represents ideation and my process. Feedback is greatly appreciated! Let me know which is your favorite, what's working well, what's not working well, things I can further develop/improve - anything, really! Thank you! :)
