I haven't really done any drawing in the last four years, so I don't have anything that I love to draw or never draw. But because I love peonies, I decided to start with that.
This was the reference image that I used. I decided to draw the flower on the left, following the three steps, and finishing by outlining it with a black pen. I tried to draw only what I saw, not what I thought was there, except for a few more leaves on the right side of the flower.
It's pretty basic, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to add more lines in (to show depth and light on the petals for example) in case it became too "busy". I'm thinking of adding some watercolour to it.
Now I'll have to think of something more out of my comfort zone to draw! :)
