Patterns are a *beach* to learn!

Patterns are a *beach* to learn! - student project

First off, Dylan, thank you AGAIN! I love all of your classes so much, as a student, it just feels like you speak my learning language!

I recently had a client request some repeatable patterns and I was spending hours and hours trying (rather unsuccessfully) to create layouts that not only seamlessly flowed, but also were designs I was confident with. AKA: they looked like they were made in Microsoft Paint (RIP) and I know that's a whole trendy *aesthetic* now, but it's noooot one I'm aspiring to as a designer, haha

I went beachy themed with my project as a bit of an ode to my home town, Santa Monica. The only types of umbrellas you typically see there are bright, colorful, and planted in the sand.

HOWEVER, it's been so rainy in Los Angeles recently, that I've had to invest in an actual RAIN umbrella. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Aside from pattern building - I've always been scared of the re-color tool, and I think I've finally conquered it! I've also been pretty aversed to swatches, and I typically stick to my CC libraries, but you've taught me the value in those too. Woohoo!

This class (and your other pattern play class) have helped me SO much. I was able to create some really cute floral patterns for a client, that they LOVE. Thanks again! I can't wait to take another one of your classes!
