I analyzed a design by Eloise Renouf, then made a design that has a similar shape as a foundation. 

These are some designs I made using an oval shape in various colors and sizes,  with patterns laid on top of the ovals.

I experimented with composition, adding and deleting elements and came up with three designs that I liked.

The class was very educational! I liked the strategies for making sure that you don't have a focal point, like avoiding high color contrast.
