Pattern Design Workshop - 3 Focal Points - Sea Life, Rainforest, Jurassic Park

Here are my 3 focal point patterns, plus an extra one!

Under the Sea:

Jurassic Park:

And an extra one! This one was created by accident - a happy accident!

I didn't have time to pull together inspiration boards for these, but here are my sketches and keywords for my three topics: Sea Life, Rainforest, and Jurassic Park.

Sea Life: I grew up close to the ocean and have lived near water all of my life. I didn't realize how lucky I was until I moved to Kansas almost two years ago. Now, I miss the ocean constantly and whenever I go home to visit my parents, I always make it a point to go to the beach. I also have a large sea-inspired collection of stuffed animals, including an octopus that has been featured in several of my cards! (I run a stationery business as my main job.) In our house, we have many seashells that we've collected during our trips to the ocean.

Key words: octopus, fish, sea shells, sand dollar, sand, bubbles, water, shark, dolphin, coral reef, seaweed, oysters, pearls, starfish

Rainforest: I've been fascinated with the Amazon rainforest since I was a child, though I've yet to visit. We actually were planning to go to Iguazu Falls (yes, I know it's not the Amazon but it's still rainforest :)) when we went to Argentina and Uruguay this winter, but we canceled our plans to go to Iguazu because of the Zika virus and the Falls' proximity to and location in Brazil (I'm expecting my first child at the end of next month). I was very sad not to be able to see the falls or toucans, but it was worth it for the peace of mind it brought me! So this "pattern" is based on an imaginary trip to Iguazu Falls.

Key words: toucan, waterfall, parrot, butterfly, vines/lienas, sloth, orchids, leopard, canopy, trees, frog, insects, water, fern

Jurassic Park: I've developed a series of four dinosaur cards that I would love to turn into a pattern for children!

Key words: dinosaurs, t-rex, brontosaurus, pterodactyl, stegosaurus, triceratops, trees, leaves, scales, teeth, claws
