Pattern Design Session - Vintage Peonies

Pattern Design Session - Vintage Peonies - student project

Phase 3: Designing and Coloring Pattern

I have created 2 different patterns with the same motifs.  There are 2 slightly different background color for the second pattern.  I like the way the patterns turn out.  I hope you like them too.  Any comments are welcome.

Phase 2: Sketches

Here are my watercolor/gouache sketches for my motifs.  I have painted a few peonies flowers, peony buds, loose petals, stems and loose leaves.

Phrase 1  Moodboard

Updated Moodboard - I initially created a moodboard for Vintage Floral.  After my sketch was done, I realized that my sketches were mainly Peonies rather than flowers in general.  I then decided to amend my moodboard and I changed the title of the pattern so that my pattern aligns with my title.

Initial Moodboard - I love flowers and I adore vintage floral a lot.  This is a great opportunity for me to create some vintage floral patterns.
