Paper Planes

Paper Planes - student project

Paper Planes - image 1 - student project

This photo is of a friend of mine I took when we were exploring New Mexico. He was terrified of flying. The first time we traveled together, he held on to me for dear life at take-off and landing. We've traveled a few times since, and he's not so scared anymore (:

I started this project off with a lot of color. I had a teal background and the image of my friend was in full color. I drew the paper plane and it was about four times as big as it is now with a trail following it. But I couldn't decide how to format the text with the paper plane. Eventually, I decided to clean it up and simplify.

My default font is usually Helvetica Light, but this class inspired me to go through all the fonts and I came across this one, Orator Std, and with a few adjustments, I really like how it turned out.

Let me know what you think, and where in the world would you like to visit next? I'd like to check out Big Sur.
