Painted field notebooks

I yearned for simple little field notebooks that would evoke the beauty and serenity of nature. And here they are!

First, I painted a piece of letter size coverstock with acrylics, and used colours that made me feel I was among the trees on a sunlit day.

Once dry, I cut the painted coverstock in two, and used each half to make a pair of lovely notebooks. The text block was made from printer paper.

A plastic ruler substituted nicely for a bone folder.

And here are my little beauties! I know I'll be making many more.
