PRIMAVERA (SPRING)

Hey!

I'm so excited (and nervous) to share my class project.

I'm an Industrial Designer from Mexico City and this is the first time EVER I've posted something on SkillShare, I finished the class a couple of months ago but hadn't gotten around to finishing the class project.

I was so excited to find this class, I've been wanting to learn how to design patterns forever! I've had a lot of fun creating patterns and got super carried away with it, as you will see. I'm loving it!

Please share your feedback, hope you like it!

Since this winter was pretty awful, I'm super excited about spring, the sun, pastel and vibrant colors. That's why my moodboard looks like this:

I wasn't very happy about the motifs since the colors I used while tracing them are clearly not right for this project, but it's amazing how color changes everything! I guess next time I'll use my color palette from the beginning because, after coloring them in, I really liked the result:

To design my first pattern (yay!) I used some of the ornaments in the original motifs to get the hang of it. I also used the Recolor Artwork tool, which I love.

I really like how this one turned out:

After practicing on single-element patterns, I tried to recreate something like the 'bouquet' Bonnie designed for one of her patterns in class. I have to say, creating the bouquet itself wasn't as hard for me as trying to find an arrangement of the bouquets that I liked. Everything kept getting in the way of everything! This was the most difficult part of the class for me, it took me a while to get it right (ish).

The following pattern, is the one I liked the most. As I warned you before, I got a little (!) carried away with the Recolor Artwork tool and just couldn't stop! Can you relate?

Thanks for taking a look at my project, which pattern did you like best? I would love to read your comments!
