I originally wanted to take an everyday boring product and turn it into something more interesting with a label. After debating with my self for a few minutes, I decided I should create the wheel before reinventing it the first time. So, I made up a local microbrewery "PHX Beer", located in Phoenix, AZ. I will be making a beer label for their "Prickly Cactus" IPA.
Lately my work has taken me down a handlettering brush/script sort of path. I want to go outside my comfort zone and create a beer label that has a clean look that still includes custom type but stays away from brush and script lettering.
I want to seperate the beer by making the design incorporate the bottle. I dont want it to look like the label was an after thought. I want the label to play with the bottle shape/color. I have also limited myself to two colors after being inspired by the Whiffle ball packaging.
I look forward to pushing and further developing myself with the project!
