I really enjoyed this class! It was thorough, well-presented and easy to follow. I had a blast making my overlays. Here are 4 of them, and I know I'll be creating a lot more.
I made a simple drawing with flat color and my usual sketchy, black outlines.
Then I added my overlays. I used the scratchy overlay (top right) to give some furry texture to the bunny. I used my hand-painted overlay (top left) on top of the whole drawing to add interest. Then I used the scratchy overlay with very low opacity over the top. The last thing I did was add a a sparkle to the eye!
I was amazed at how much the overlays changed my simple, flat drawing. Using overlays is a quick and easy way to make a basic drawing look extra special. It's like magic! I foresee using this technique a lot in my digital drawing.
