First of all, I want to thank Elizabeth for such an awesome class! You're inspiring!
And now... for my project. I love Cherry blossoms and Japanesse gardens and I've been wanting to draw them for a while, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity.
I made these sketches in Illustrator. I usually ink everything, scan and then Live Trace but decided to give the digital sketching a shot, and I still don't know if I like it as much as inking first.
And, after messing around with colors and placements (for a veeeery long time), I came up with this collection:
And here's my short story:
ORIENTAL BLOSSOMS: Springtime is here, and the garden is bursting with life, flowers are blooming and butterflies have spread their wings and are now free to fly. The vibrant garden is now a world of it's own.
Here are the details:
And, I also tried a different colorway, something softer that could be used for kids decor or clothing... or a nursery maybe?
And, finally, I made some mockups to see how it would look like, this is always my favorite part!
I hope you like them! I had a lot of fun! I still have to write the little story about the collection... but I´m thinking about it and will come and add it soon.
