Onwordly, an Etsy shop


Hi! A little late to this, but it's still a work in progress! A little background on myself--I'm a graphic designer and aspiring letterer working to make a name for myself and hoping to open an Etsy shop in the near future with some stuff with my work on it!

ONWORDLY BRAND IDENTITY / CREATIVE BRIEF

BACKGROUND

Onwordly is an online Etsy store to-be, that will feature hand-painted, original ceramic pieces and will hopefully branch out to more media such as prints and stationery in the near future. 

OBJECTIVE

To create a memorable and cohesive brand identity for Onwordly.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Men and women of all ages, particulary ages 18-35, especially with an appreciation for design.

MESSAGE

Personalized pieces made to love, with love.

COMPETITION

Other ceramic sellers on Etsy and print/stationery stores.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

  • Onwordly communicates a broad range of styles that are painted onto pieces for decorative purposes and/or could be put to use, such as one-of-a-kind mugs and ornaments. The uniqueness and personalization of the pieces genuinely sets apart from those found in stores and therefore relates more closely with the consumer.
  • Hand-lettering will be the main focus found on the pieces offered (hence "word" in Onwordly), featuring playful, quirky phrases. Lettering has been a current endeavor of mine and painting on pieces allows me to explore it in many other ways (other than pen and paper) with ceramic glaze techniques.

CREATIVE CONSIDERATIONS

  • Explore a palette of dijon-yellow and light grey, and maybe a third color: teal/blue.
  • Evoke a hand-made, textured "stamp" feel 

TONE

  • Friendly, playful
  • Lighthearted, warm
  • Personable
  • Hand-made
