EDIT: April 22

Okay, so I've decided to not use that screenshot as my final design. Instead, I referenced it and used it as inspiration for a poster/illustration (my original idea). I will post the final version later today; I've been super busy.

I am working on revising my ideas below and brainstorming how to present them. I had originally thought of producing a digital "poster" that felt like a printed piece, with the idea that it would be a metaphor for this transition. However, I kind of had a funny thought as I was typing things up.

  • I'm revising my thoughts in a Google doc—a free online service that I've used so many times to collaborate on assignments with other students.
  • I'm using Google Chrome—a largely open-source web browser.
  • I'm using Open Sans—a typeface recently created by Adobe that is entirely open-source.

So I thought, what if I just took a screenshot of my work in progress? Rather than designing some vector thing in Illustrator, I thought it might be more interesting to use these open-source tools as the medium of the design itself. Anyway, here it is—feedback appreciated!
