One day in life of theater actors

Ivanka meets me at the back door of the Molodyi Theater in Kyiv, 30 minutes before the play starts. Her husband Stas and she are going to play in a classical Ukrainian tragicomedy, which has been in theater's repertoire for more than 20 year. Still, the theater hall is full.

Firstly, Ivanka gets dressed and checks he schedule for the next week.

She does he make-up herself, but gets a little help with her hair.

Stas needs a little bit on foundation, too. Time to go on stage.

The play a couple in love, so it's not a hard job for them. Actors are very relaxed and funny backstage, talking to each other and sharing stories about their kids or discussing a new play. In a few seconds they run on stage screaming their cues, fighting, dancing, flirting, singing, like they did many times before. Once they are back, the role is gone of their face. They are just who they are.
