Oil Pastel (and soft) Japanese Magnolia

Oil Pastel (and soft) Japanese Magnolia - student project

I enjoyed this class, but am almost certain I have questionable craft quality oil pastels moonlighting as "art supplies" :) a left over from art classes in college years ago. BUT it was fun to still sort of play and push them, but their blendability wasn't very good. I resorted to equally questionable quality soft pastels to darken the background a bit. My inspiration for the flower portrait is a Japanese Magnolia tree in my front yard, but as it's been raining for Months in AL, the scenery is grey and dull which really makes these blooms GLOW so I was trying to capture that glow. I enjoyed your class and look forward to more!
