Off the Street

Hi everyone,

my name is Léon (@leoncolv), I'm a young photographer from Switzerland studying design.

I loved the class, but knew that it would be tricky for me to take my own shots, since I'm really busy at the university right now and I wouldn't have the opportunity to shoot for a specific brand. None of the less I decided pretty spontaneous to shoot with my brother. So two days ago in the evening we started planning, looking for locations and selecting outfits, which ended in a night shift. The next morning (after two hours of sleep) we headed out and went shooting all day long.

We tried to combine some street fashion pieces with ones that are decently more classy, whilst keeping everything simple and minimalistic. To support this we choose two locations that have a clean, strongly geometric architecture and are more in the nature to break the street mood.

I really enjoyed watching the class as well as shooting, and I learned a whole lot of new stuff. This was for sure the best planned shoot I did of this kind, normally I just grab a friend, tell him to wear some nice stuff and then go. I also got some more technical inputs, for example shooting with a wide angle, normally I'm more of an 85mm guy.

I really like how the photos turned out and I am definitely going to do more shoots like this in the future. Any feedback or advise is very much appreciated!:)

Edit: This would be the soundtrack to the lookbook.
