This was my first Skill Share class ever and I'm hooked. I'll definitely be participating in more of Tom's classes in particular. I have really enjoyed the fearlessness of this kind of line making. It has challenged and encouraged me to be more confident when I approach rendering.
I've been struggling with capturing expression and movement for a while... Which is incredibly frustrating! I always get caught up on those pesky details and "pain points". These projects have given me great tools to use next time I am in that situation. I'm very thankful for such innovative and helpful instruction! It's been inspiring.
I'm not one for long explanations, so I'll keep things concise. Here are my projects, including the various iterations. I went ahead and created finalized graphics because I was so pumped by the energy evoked in these sketches!
Side Note: After finishing, I was getting serious Viola Swamp, from Miss Nelson is Missing!, vibes from this character. Must be those black lips! Such a blast from the past. I'll add a picture for reference, because it made me laugh. Get at it, Miss Nelson, and please don't throw bowling balls at your students.
