ODD BODIES on ice (and at the veggie fair)

ODD BODIES on ice (and at the veggie fair) - student project

ODD BODIES class was amazing, like all Tom's classes! It has really inspired me to try something else than my usual style, yet I feel in the end I've still managed to combine it. My aim was to learn how to go beyond the traditional, and add a little bit more fun and spice to the body and object shapes. The step by step really helped to open up to the new possibilities, without being overwhelmed.. it was genuinely fun to be looking at Tom's own drawing process, and experimenting myself :)

Here's the initial sketch. First I decided on the tennis players, however I saw that Tom also went with this idea, so I changed to ice skaters, as they also do really crazy stuff with their bodies while performing! I still took the quite basic looking poses (as long as you try yourself haha)

Here's the clean sketch in Procreate. I added more details and features.

That's my final project! The tiny details are unfortunately not the most visible in this format, but I hope that the most is preserved :)

I also loved the other part of Tom's class, where you had to re-size a chosen object and let somebody interact with it. It's not the most extreme, however I had a lot of fun designing this grand beetroot 1st prize farmer winner :)
