The process is actually quite easy, and with the supplied pictures of already Isolated leaves, you can start quickly to make your own picture borders, or other Creative Digital Collage / Scrapbook projects.

If you want to use your own images of leaves, you can check out my previous class on how you can make them isolated from their background, together with some tips, that will make using them in these kind of projects more easy. -> Capture the Fall - Isolate Leaves from their background in Adobe Photoshop

At the end of this class, I will show you how easy it is to make a lot of different items, working from this document.

Bring Updatable Artwork from Adobe Illustrator to Adobe After Effects

This Class is made to answer a question of a student in a previous class.

About This Class

In this class I will show you a workflow that brings Updatable Artwork from Adobe Illustrator to Adobe After Effects.

Preparing the Illustrator file in a certain way, allows easy animation inside After Effects of individual layers, while still retaining a link to the original Illustrator file, so that changes you make in Illustrator are updated in the linked file inside After Effects, even if those layers are already animated.

Along the way you will find some helpful tips.

This workflow is extremely helpful when you want to make your designs for your Motion Graphic inside Illustrator, and not want to design or rebuild it inside After Effects.

The example that is used in this class, is very basic on purpose, focusing on the technique of bringing it to After Effects.

Wiggle it with After Effects, create awesome irregular effects without Key-frames

In this class I show you some simple tricks to use the “wiggle” expression in After Effects to create nice random / irregular changes to properties like: Position, Rotation and Opacity, without the use of Key-frames.

With this technique you can bring a static scene to life, without the need to add a lot off Key-frames.

Based on some simple examples I will show you the possibilities and the power of this technique.
For example:
- How to make the leaves of a tree move in the wind
- Making a simple graphic equalizer
- The flickering of a candle

I provide a project file with and without the effect, so that you can try it out without the need to design something yourself.
(I kept my graphics very basic, because it isn’t about how nice it looks, but what you can with it :) )

Please note, I designed this class with the notion of some basic knowledge of After Effects, If you are a beginner, you are welcome to see the possibilities of this effect.
If you want to get started with learning the program from scratch there are some great beginner classes from awesome teachers here at Skillshare.

Let's wiggle and bring your scene to live now!

For your class project I would love to see what other possibilities you can think of using the wiggle effect on a property to create random / irregular changes to that properties values.

To recap some of the examples I gave, using the wiggle effect on:
- Opacity property, you can make a candle flicker, or a panel full of light blink on and of randomly.
- Rotation property to make the leaves move on a tree
- Scale property to make a mask smaller and larger to reveal parts of the graphic equalizer.

I Included also a project file that you can use as a base to get started. (not yet)
