Set in motion down a foggy sea flanked highway, wind turbines are vaguely recognized in the near distance. Like magic the smoky curtains part as I venture into the awe-inducing moment. Wait, I’m no longer just witnessing the panoramic summer sky and rolling green mountains but have become part of their beauty. I sense the warmth of the sun on my face and arm just as I imagine the leaves of the trees in the lush forest surrounding the grey strip I am propelling down do. The sea-scented breeze distracts my attention from the radio as it whispers forgotten secrets in my ear. And I can feel it with parts of me I didn’t know could feel …. I am home.
