Afternoon tea for me is something related to the weekend or the holidays. I really enjoy preparing it on the days when I am not being occupied by the usual work. I enjoy being alone in my tiny kitchen while the little one is asleep, drinking a cup of coffee while baking and having my time off.
So today I have decided to make cinnemon buns, the swedish type, for the first time. It took me three times to get the dough right but finally they made it into the oven. By then I realized that I had not taken pictures of the processing - the part that I love most. The preparation when no one is disturbing me.
I also needed to get out on the balcony in order to have more space and a bit more light. Writing this I realize there could have been told much more, if I had made a better plan before, like heard in this wonderful class. But isn´t that we do learn much more from our mistakes then from our triumphs?
The story might not be perfect, but the memory of the hard work that I put into these buns and the face of my son when he got out of bed and saw them will always put a smile on my face.
