NY Giants, NFL

I really enjoy design and uniform concepts, and I am a big fan of the New York Giants. I am excited to learn the process of uniform design as I get more in depth in the rich history of Giants football. I have been a Giants fan for 12 years, despite the fact I lived on the west coast (California) most of my life. I guess it just goes back to my mother's side of the family, who all grew up in New York. That's my breif history, now i'm ready to get creative!

Football uniforms have come a long way since the sport's existence. It's great to see how they have evolved, changed and sometimes go right back to a retro style. Although this will be hard to read, it shows a breif history of football uniforms and what changes were made.

Although I really like the look of the older red unis, I dont think it captures the essence of "Big Blue." I am a big fan of the 80s-90s look and would like to use that as a start and modernize it just a bit.

New York has such rich and vibrant history, in social and sporting aspects. New York is the gateway to this great country of freedom. People from various counties around the world often times come through New York to visit the U.S. so it is their 1st impression. New York is BIG and lively; there is always something to do and the next best thing is always right around the corner. That being said, I feel it would be important to stick with rich history and not go too far outside the box.

Looking more closely at the state flag, I am seeing (and maybe assuming) where the inspiration for the team's blue color comes from. I love the blue color, it's a perfect strong blue.

It seems many of the historic Giants teams incorporated more red then the team has lately. This makes sense as the team is called Big Blue, but what I would like to see is more red aspects without taking away from the rich blue. Here are some quick ideas. I emphasised a little more red, while keeping the somewhat same simple, classic look.

I also want to get away from teh gray pants. They look ok with the home jerseys, but it just doesnt look right with the aways. I want to get back to the 80s-90s eras when they had white and sometimes blue. This is my first crack at it, and I will submit more options as well.
