My "ugly" Sketchbook:)

My "ugly" Sketchbook:) - student project

I have a sketchbook that is for experimentations, relaxation, letting off steam. I also found out that a lot of pages in this moleskine sketchbook are faulty, they have a weird cardboard texture unlike another moleskine I have filled that is exactly the same- so win win- it helped me not feeling like I'm wasting anything, like Yasmina suggested:)

so some of these are before this class, but I thought i'd add them to the project too, because they felt in the spirit of this class, of letting go of perfectionism and just playfully painting without judgment!

Here I really liked to "discover" the texture of the dry brush and it reminded me of grass (The red marks). I tried to make it ugly, something that I never consciously tried to do, and it was quite fun:)

Here I played with pastels and then added water.

I love doing soft swatches with leftover paints, so I won't waste it. It's really therapeutic!

Yasmina, Thank you so much for this lovely class! 2 months ago I returned to painting after a year that I've dealt with fears that relate to art and an art block. I found that so much that you talked about in this class is everything I've told myself to help myself out of this block. I'm still learning to implement these ideas and healthy attitude in my art journey, {and in life} so this class is a wonderful reminder that I can watch whenever the inner critic comes back. These are such wonderful and positive messages and they are worth spreading.

Thank you again for all your positivity and kindness!
