I have been battling PCOS for almost 11 years now. I was detected with the condition when it was termed as a disease and not a syndrome. (yes, I am ancient). A syndrome of our lifestyles, a syndrome of the food we are consuming and syndrome which sees to it that most days you are your nasty hormonal selves. I saw this class as an opportunity to express a little of that in both my drawings and my words.
I wanted to make the Illustrations appear very "candylandish" and even maybe apt for children's books. And I thought of doing so with the use of colors and the texture brush Plimsoll by Procreate. I have so far only managed to complete the first half of my illustrations which are the nouns. And I will get to the second bit when I get to it!
It has been a brilliant learning curve and I have happily been able to apply all of Tom's teaching in my professional work too!
I hope that you enjoy these fun little passive-aggressive snippets of my experience with PCOS, also for people who don't know what it is, it's Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome a condition that affects the woman's ovaries and causes hormonal havoc in her life.
