My Reading Recommendations

Here are some books that I've found very beneficial and/or fun to read!

1)"The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien--A classic fantasy story that everyone should experience at least once.  Bilbo is a relatable and funny protagonist; the world is imaginative, and the small adventures are memorable.  Something I try to read at least once a year!

2)"You Are a Badass" by Jen Sincero--This book is a great reminder to me that confidence is a choice and there are many things you can do to consciously build it.

3)"I Shall Not Be Moved" by Maya Angelou--I am a huge fan of poetry and this book is largely responsible for that.  This book contains some very powerful expressions from a very powerful woman.  It covers the entire spectrum of emotions and contains some very wise words that I return to on a regular basis.

4)"Gathering Blue" by Lois Lowry--This book is set in the same universe as "The Giver.'  While none of the familiar characters from Lowry's preceding book appear in this story, it still creates a very fascinating, if not different dystopian society.  At the heart of this book is the importance of artists and the power that they carry for any and all societies.  Highly recommended for any artists out there.
