My New Favorite Journal!

It's official, the traveler's notebooks I made for this class are my new favorite journals!

They're so portable! They're fun because they're interchangeable. And because they're notebooks it feels like a whole lot less pressure when it comes to making that first mark on a fresh new page.

I made three journals during and after filming the class and I ended up gifting all of them!

When I finally came to make a notebook for myself I knew I would need a full A5 page, so my notebooks are based on that size.

For the notebook covers I used watercolor paper, so that I could paint them before turning them into books:

Inside the notebooks are a combo of Rhodia dot grid paper and blank cartridge paper, with the aim of being able to start a new bullet journaling practice alongside sketching. (I was inspired to try bullet journaling after watching Amanda Rach Lee's class, you should check it out!) Of course you can sketch on dot grid paper too, but for me it was a good transition from using blank paper right throughout a journal.

I take a lot of inspiration from Pinterest and am continually adding new pins to my boards!

I'm already getting so much out of my new journals. I'm adding to them daily. I find it helps not to fret about 'finishing' a page but to add to them little by little each time I come back. You can see more of the inside of my journals on Instagram
