My Hometown in Indiana

Posting some tight sketches to make up for my shameful lack of progress!

Seems like the proportions are kinda off here and I definitely need to work on the legs more, but I like how simplified this horse is. I'm going to try a few different versions, maybe something with more movement?

Happier with the cow than the horse...although maybe the udder is too obscene (but, it's completely natural, so why not leave it in?). I'm thinking of keeping the cow as the focal point and moving the corn field and tractor back a bit in the layout....won't know for sure until I get those portions sketched and put them all together.

I'm kind of a homebody, so I decided to stick with my rural hometown as my subject matter. Right now, I'm just trying to figure out what elements I want to include. Lots of cows, horses, rows of corn and silos around, but I'm not sure if I want to create an actual farm "scene" or go for something a little less literal.

Second set...I'm leaning towards something like the last thumb

Tried to work out a bigger comp...not sure if I like the emphasis being the cornstalks, although that might make for some interesting textures...may have to swap out the corn for the tractor. Going to try and get some tighter drawings of each "element" done tomorrow.
