My Home Vitality - YouTube Intro - I MADE A BIG MISTAKE!
Hey guys and gals :)
This is my first video in what I intend to be a whole host of videos for my YouTube channel - My Home Vitality.
MY MISTAKE: I recorded in my living room with a Nikon D5300, with "auto" settings on. Little did I know that auto settings changed during recording so the raw footage would go lighter and darker every so often :(
It took me an age to colour grade and colour edit the video and I think you can still see parts where changes occurred in recording but for my first video, I don't think it's too bad.
MY AIM: I wanted the feel to be warm, welcoming and little saturated to go with the comedic introduction.
HOW CAN I IMPROVE: I would love to get your feedback on what I've done well, any pointers on what I could have done better and any tips on recording to make my next video even better. Please be as blunt as possible, it's the only way I'm going to get better... I'll leave my ego at the door!
ANOTHER THING I NOTICED: I'm not sure if it is just me but the colour still looks a little dark and shadowy on YouTube, although it doesn't look that bad when I'm editing it in Premiere Pro on my computer... Any tips for a beginner who doesn't have access to calibrated reference monitors, bias lights, 18% grey walls and 65k lighting,
BEFORE & AFTER: I have attached before and after images, so you can see the colour grading changes below.
