1. List all major “players” in the system (eg. a marketplace may have two major players: buyers & sellers)

a. Online shoppers/consumers

b. Affiliate publisher site


2. List out any selfish reasons why each player would need their contacts/friends to join the service

a. Online shoppers/consumers - want to show their friends a sale they found on a particular item or ask their friend's opinion on an item

[#4] Shoppers need affirmation of their purchases.

b. Affiliate publisher site - want to increase sales to their own site

[#4] Business want to make more money. The system will allow them acquire new customers.

3. List out all things you could possibly charge each player for on the service

a. Online shoppers/consumers - the service is free.  However, the user needs to sign up with their email to view the results.

[#4] Users are coming to muchness.com with a specific search intent.  In order to view the results they will have to sign up.  I could lose the user here or acquire a return user??

b. Affiliate publisher site - commission percentage on each transaction

[#4] They will be paying a lower percentage for returning users and a higher percentage for a new customer.  Customer acquisition is very costly so the affiliate publisher will be willing to pay the commision.

4. For 2 and 3 above give a very short reason you think the player would be motivated to need their contact or pay for the service

5. List the channels (email, facebook, text message, etc.) that you will send your users’ invites through and how you will get that contact data
6. Create what those invites will look like
