The Rosette Nebula (NGC 2237, Caldwell 49) is the large hydrogen, sulfur and oxygen gas cloud in the constellation of Monoceros. The open star cluster NGC 2244 (Caldwell 50) consists of stars being formed from the nebula. The nebula is 5,200 light years away from Earth. I had been thinking of trying to paint a galaxy, but was scared that I may not do justice. Your class made it look doable, so I did try. Some places I think paint got dried faster than I could paint. Also, I did not realize using drawing ink will make it harder to blend, but I think I still liked the effect I got with black ink on sides. Enjoyed it, thank you.
